Success Space Block Types

Clove has several types of blocks that can be added to a success space. We’re always open to adding new blocks, so let us know if you have a use case that isn’t covered here!

Let’s go over each block type that’s available.

Visual Editor

The visual editor lets you create content using our text editor. The usual suspects are included here: title fonts, font styles, images, and links.

Our visual editor makes it easy to link out to your knowledge base articles. Highlight text and click the link button to bring up our content search modal. We’ll show articles with that title, or you can enter an external link.

The styles in the visual editor will apply based on what’s in your hub. So if you have custom fonts or other styles, they’ll apply to your visual editor block.

Action List

Action lists are interactive checklists that your logged-in users can work through. We have an action list article that goes over them.

When you add an action list block, you select the list to use. We’ll then display it in the space based on the logged-in user.

When you view the space in Clove’s backend, we’ll show the checklist as it would appear for the selected “preview user.” If you don’t have a user selected, you’ll see a yellow indicator letting you know that.

Video

Videos are a great way to engage with your customers to give them a personalized 1-1 feeling. You can drag your video block into the space and then select an existing video or quickly add a new one.

We provide out-of-the-box support for several video providers: Google Drive, Loom, Vidyard, Wistia, and Youtube. But any provider that supports embedding videos is supported.

File

Do you have customer reports, ebooks, etc. that you want to put in front of your customers? We have just what you need with the file block.

You can select an existing file or quickly add a new one. Depending on the type of file selected, you will have several different display options.

The most basic option is “Icon + Download.” This option displays the file in a way that looks like Google Drive.

Cover images can be added to any file (from that file’s detail page.) We’ll display the image you select where the file would appear.

The most powerful file display is our “Embedded PDF” option. This will render your PDF file in the space so that customers don’t need to download or leave the page. In addition, you’ll get analytics about the PDF file and links that are clicked.

View tracking is a transparent cover that appears over the PDF before users can scroll through it. Once they click the button in this cover, we’ll track that as them viewing the PDF. If you don’t want the view tracking, you can always remove it.

Chart

You can embed charts directly from your data provider with this option. Currently we support the following providers: Salesforce.

The chart will be displayed based on the current logged-in user, applying any filters that are setup in your chart definition.

If you have other charts that you want to bring in, let us know. As a fallback, data providers always have PDF exports that can be seamlessly embedded in Clove using the “File” type.

External Embed

External embeds are perfect for when you use a third-party tool that integrates by embedding itself into other tools. We support a few providers currently, but you can embed any arbitrary embedded product by pasting the “<iframe>” code in the “Other” tab.

Tickets

If you have your ticketing system connected to Clove, then we can display the most recently updated tickets that a user can see. This is all automatic based on the currently logged-in user.

If you preview the space as a particular user, we’ll show you what the ticket section will look like for them.

Horizontal Break

We saved the best for last. If you are needing a bit more vertical space in your space, you can add a horizontal break. This is useful for forcing separation between columns or for giving a bit more breathing room to your content.
